The AFP reports:
Failing to pull up your pants in Virginia could cost you a $US50 ($65) fine if legislators in the southern US state have their way.
The House chamber in Virginia's General Assembly has voted 60-34 in favour of the so-called "droopy drawers" Bill to penalise people who wear their pants too low, exposing their boxer shorts or G-strings in a "lewd or indecent manner".
"Underwear is called underwear for a reason," said Republican politician John Reid.
"Most of us would identify this as the coarsening of society."-AFP

Rep. Reid,

That's the spirit - throw em in jail for those lowriding duds. See how they fare in there, with their butts exposed. While you're at it, haul away every woman who is similarly outrageously displayed, particularly in the bust arena.

Oh, you don't mind bosoms?

Well, how about if they're not the bosoms of Virginia society ladies in their finest inauguration-ball regalia? Can you slap them in jail, then? If, say, they're black or Hispanic like those boys in the lowriders?

In any case, you're on the track you consciously or subconsciously intend: slavey is over; hell, even segregation is illegal; but your innovation in finding ways to continue sticking it to everyone who's not a boring old fart from the suburbs of middle America is exemplary.

Keep it up!
PM, Seattle
